Leisure Time in Beach

We had a short stay of 2 years in Chennai. Being a new city neither had any close acquaintances nor found any good place to spend leisure time. The best moments were the time spent on the beaches there. Whenever the moods were low we would go to the beach. Spending time looking at the vast sea gave a soothing effect to mind. I would just stroll on the beach holding hands with my wife Leena or sit on the beach watching kids playing in the sand. My son Kevin's favourite game was to dig the sand and get buried in it with just head popping out.

Once, on my daughter Sheryl's birthday, we went to the beach early morning. It was still dark and dawn was distant. Slowly the sun appeared in the distant horizon, peeping out with its orange glow. We spent time watching the sun rise and seeing the fishermen coming back with their early catch. Blue sea with the silhouette of tiny fishermen boats bobbing up and down with wave and the beautiful dawn are for ever etched in the mind.

Lot of people come to beach in the evening time. But as darkness engulfs, the ocean becomes a strange place. We can only hear the frightening roar of waves breaking on the shore. On the beach many shacks crop up which sell snack items. Lot of lighting and frenetic commercial activities start. Vendors coming with their wares to sell to people sitting on the sand.

Beaches have many things comparable with our own life. Morning it would be calm and soothing and by night it becomes agitated and frightening. Person and location although same yet with change in time mood changes, our outlook changes. As we never get bored with visiting the beaches, so should be our life. Wait for the time to refresh and carry on...
