Go for Picnics to make buddies
The word Picnic brings a smile in every one. During our
school days there was not much picnics organised by our school. In fact not
many picnic spots also in and around Bhilai. The picnic spots nearby were
mostly dams and the park attached to the dam.
What I remember about picnics is while going for picnic mostly people occupy the bus seats with one or two close
friends. It is a closed group affair. Other's are just batch mates you have been seeing the whole year
round. Once the journey starts, there are ice-breaking interactions and people
start making more friends. Then you have breakfast, lunch and games at the
picnic spot that creates a bonding among the entire group. The real long term
relationship happens while returning back. You have those antaksharis and
singing session in the bus. Then the fun taunts and leg pulling among the group. Boys making fun of girls and girls returning it back royally become unforgettable memories.
And as
the travel is about to reach back home someone among the group will sing this
song which brings a lump in everyone's throat.
Chaltee... Chalte
Mere Yeh Geet Yaad Rakhna
Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna
Kabhi Alvida Na Kehnaaa....
Rote Hanste Bas Yunhi Tum
Gungunate Rahna…
Then I don't know why everyone becomes so close with
each other that it becomes very difficult to disperse. That nostalgia of picnics are still found in the school and college reunions once we are grown up. Keep meeting your old buddies once in a while to rejuvenate your monotonous life...
Very true , nice writeup.
