Chit Chat on the Street

During our school days all of us had that friend who will come home to collect some notes. Notes was just an excuse, we used to end up chatting for hours. Mostly the friend will come and call you outside. He would not get down from the bicycle and we would be outside the compound. Our parents ask us to come inside, but we were more comfortable outside only. The chat would endlessly be on the geo-political affairs of our immediate locality where we lived or about the class and school affairs. How someone got bashed up, what mischief someone did etc.
The other important place to meet our best friends would be where we used to go for tuition classes. Those classes used to be to improve on subjects that we are weak at. Whether our subject knowledge improved or not is a different story, our priority would be to meet friend. We used to reach the classes before time so that we can gather at the street corner and chat with our friends. I still remember all the tricks of cycle riding have been honed up during those occasions. Many a times the chats and jokes continued in the tuition class also. I remember the time when my friend sitting beside cracked a joke, the giggling was uncontrollable and the teacher hauled us up. After the tuition is over we had another session of chat under some street lights near to our home. Those chats would continue but for the fear that we will be questioned on reaching home late.
My best friends are still those buddies with whom I spent the most time during childhood. That friendship is pure and innocent ones which we cherish always...
